Booking/Security Deposit
A booking deposit of £200 is payable to Sam’s Caravan Hire to confirm the booking of the hire. This also acts as the security deposit. The balance of the hire is payable no later than 28 days prior to the hire date. The Security Deposit is fully refundable within 14 days of the caravan hire period end date provided that the caravan is returned clean, undamaged, no items are missing, and on time.
The toilet must be emptied and cleaned and should the caravan not be returned as stated in our Terms and Conditions we will charge accordingly for cleaning and damages and a minimum charge of £50 for emptying and cleaning the toilet which will be deducted from your deposit immediately. Also in the event that any amount is outstanding and has not been paid when due to Sam’s Caravan Hire we reserve the right to treat this is a cancellation of the hire by the customer and our cancellation policy will apply.
Should you cancel less than 8 weeks prior to the hire date, Sam’s Caravan Hire reserve the right to retain the booking deposit in full if we cannot re-let the caravan. The payment of both the booking deposit and the final balance can be paid by bank transfer or cash.
Insurance
The hirer is responsible for the excess of the policy which is £350.
In the event of any damage, including loss or damage to equipment, damage to tyres, mirrors,windscreen, roof lights or any internal damage however caused during the hire time, the cost of the repair will be deducted from Booking/Damage Deposit paid upon reservation.
Deposit Refunds
Deposits are refunded in full provided that the vehicle is returned clean, undamaged and no items are missing and in time. Unemptied toilets will be charged at £50 for emptying and cleaning. Refunds are paid after safe return of the caravan and a full inspection of the caravan has taken place and within 14 days of the hire. Refunds will be returned by bank transfer.
No Smoking Policy
It is now an offence for the hirer to smoke, or allow anyone to smoke in any of our hire vehicles and signs are clearly displayed in each caravan to make this clear. Sam’s Caravan Hire has an obligation to all their clients to maintain the caravans are all smoke free and therefore should the hirer return a caravan in which smoking has occurred this will result in the loss of your full deposit paid to cover costs for the vehicle to be fully valleted and cleaned.
Hirer Cancellations
Should the Hirer cancel the booking, the Company will endeavor to re-let the vehicle and, if successful, the amount paid will be refunded less an administration charge of £60+VAT. If the Company is unable to do so, the Hirer will be responsible for the sum already paid on a scale proportionate to the length of time before the hire commences, as set out below :-
Exceeding 28 days from hire date: Loss of deposit
Less than 28 days from hire date: Loss of Hire charges
Hirers are strongly advised to obtain their own insurance cover to safeguard against such losses.
Pets
We have no objection to family pets in our caravans. We do however ask hirers to be responsible for their pets and to ensure that they are provided with their own beds/blankets as necessary. Please remember that some vehicles have more floor space suitable for pet areas than others, so bear this in mind when deciding on the vehicle you require. Should the caravans need additional cleaning or carpet cleaning then this will be charged accordingly.
